“Excursion Into Justice” at Ebenezer Baptist Church, August 3-4

The Just Science Scholars team spent the 3rd and 4th of August educating the local community about the importance of sustainable practices with interactive, fun and wholesome activities, at the annual Back-to-School Health Fair hosted by the Ebenezer Baptist Church.

This year, NEJI chose to push the theme of home energy performance. The NEJI team set up a table with healthy snack items, stickers to give away, and a magnetic darts game. Fairgoers would play this game for the chance to win a free T-shirt, LED lightbulbs, caulk, or insulative lining. This allows the community to be aware of the importance of environmental justice and take essential renovations into their own hands.

The next day, the Just Science Scholars attended Ebenezer Baptist Church service and toured the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Historical Site.
